Meet Our New Vice President of Operations – Blair Quasnitschka

Maxwell Group Inc., the parent company of Senior Living Communities, Wellmore, and Live Long Well Care has announced the promotion of Blair Quasnitschka from Executive Director to the company’s Vice President of Operations. “Blair is a strong servant leader who is committed to our company’s Guiding Principles,” said Maxwell Group President, Benjamin Thompson.

As the Vice President of Operations, Quasnitschka will oversee, train, and mentor Executive Directors/Executive Teams in Connecticut, Indiana, North Carolina, and inland South Carolina. He joined the company in 2017 as the Executive Director at Evergreen Woods, a Maxwell Group property in North Branford, Connecticut. Upon entering the company, he brought a positivity and eagerness to learn more about senior living, having spent much of his career in senior care. Through various leadership trainings, mentorship opportunities, and support from the American College of Healthcare Administrators he furthered his leadership skills, knowledge about the full range of care services, and community operations. “The Company took the time to teach me, challenge me and grow my overall industry acumen,” said Quasnitschka. “Having the opportunity to further support the company by having a wider reach to multiple communities is an honor. There is a sincere commitment to their residents and team members that motivates me to lead better.”

Prior to joining Maxwell Group/Senior Living Communities, he graduated from Springfield College (Springfield, MA) with a Bachelors of Science in Sports Management. He aspired to work in sports, but after five years in the industry, he changed course to pursue a career in senior living. He credits his time working in sports event management as an integral piece of groundwork for learning about building a successful team and how they can impact customer excellence. Following in the footsteps of his late father (a nursing home administrator for over 20 years), he received his Certificate in Long Term Care Administration and licensure as a Nursing Home Administrator in Connecticut (he later became licensed in NY and MA) from the University of Connecticut. The majority of his time working in the senior living industry had been in skilled nursing operations. However, when the Executive Director opening became available at Evergreen Woods, it presented Quasnitschka the opportunity to focus on Independent Living [Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing, and Rehabilitation] which was an excellent pivot for his career goals. In 2019, just shy of two years with the company, he was awarded the company’s Supernova Award for Executive Director of the Year. Additionally, he credits the American College of Healthcare Administrators (ACHCA) for being a cornerstone of his growth and giving him the ability to network within the industry. In 2016, he achieved a Fellow status with the ACHCA and has served on their National Board of Directors for the past four years.

The Quasnitschka family [His Wife, Nella, Sons, Maddox and Jagger, as well as the family’s Goldendoodle puppy, Luna] are looking forward to the relocation from Connecticut to the Maxwell Group, Inc. headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina. “We are excited to keep up the traditions of our family,” says Quasnitschka. “We enjoy going on family hikes, neighborhood walks, doing puzzles, and attending the boys basketball, baseball, golf, and Ninja Warrior Training”. In his free time, he enjoys hitting the links for a round of golf and playing the piano for family, friends, and community residents.
