Award Winning Senior Wellness Programs

Senior Living Communities has invested in the equipment, the resources and experienced personnel in order to lead our industry in total Wellness.

Led by our highly talented Wellness directors, our wellness program focus over the past decade has centered on issues affecting the geriatric population such as balance, posture, fall prevention, flexibility, arthritis, muscle or strength loss, post-rehab and brain health.

Monthly wellness schedules feature:

Pilates is a body conditioning routine that may help build flexibility, muscle strength, and endurance in the legs, abdominals, arms, hips and back.

Exercises that increase core strength and stability help to strengthen the lower back and the diaphragm and its ability to stabilize the body during movement.

Low impact dancing variations to increase strength, balance and cardio.
Aqua Twinges

Senior Living Communities' Wellness Program assists our members in improving their quality of life through better cardiovascular function, increased strength, greater flexibility, better balance, enhanced endurance, intellectual stimulation, healthy menus and education programs. Our Wellness Program inspires our members to have fun and be more active, making it easier to perform daily activities, improves health and lowers risk for disease and disability. Our person-centered approach considers the "whole" person, and is designed to maintain and improve members’ current levels of physical, mental, social and spiritual wellness.

Our program is enhanced by our partnership with Wake Forest University and the J. Paul Sticht Center on Aging. Their research is committed to improving the quality of life for every one of our members and promoting a long and healthy lifestyle for seniors. Through these partnerships we've been able to implement new tools for health assessments for our members, dietary programs for healthy weight management in senior adults, and exercise programs to promote independence while aging.

In fact, through our partnership with Wake Forest we developed the CLIMB program and launched it at our Homestead Hills community in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Focusing on increasing lower body strength, it took home the ALFA Best of the Best Award for Resident Health and Wellness in 2011.

At each community, our classes are taught by our Wellness Directors who are certified and trained to deliver high quality instruction and guidance to assist our members in achieving personal fitness goals as well as lead the way to THE WELLER LIFE®. Like having a personal trainer, they make sure each member gets the attention and encouragement needed to achieve maximum results and live life to the fullest!
